Barcelona kicked off the concerts prior to the Eurovision Song Contest last March and this Friday, after the parties held in Poland and Israel, the PrePartyES begins. La Riviera, in Madrid, hosts the two events that make it up, starting with the already classic Welcome PrePartyES, which takes place tonight and can be seen live on RTVE Play. Numerous artists will take the stage throughout the evening, with the presence of most of the Benidorm Fest 2023 participants, including Blanca Paloma herself. Our representative in Liverpool will perform before her colleagues and other international delegations in this Welcome PrePartyES, to which she returns for the second consecutive year: in 2022 she already performed «Secret of Water».
After pinching the hearts of the Israeli public at the Eurovisual PreParty in Tel Aviv, Blanca Paloma returns to Spain to welcome the international delegations that travel to Madrid to be part of the PrePartyES. Organized by Eurovision-Spain, the event brings together a multitude of artists participating this year in Eurovision, from Loreen to Käärijä, who will perform this Saturday at La Riviera, after having started the party with Welcome PrePartyES. Together with the Spanish representative, a multitude of European Eurovision candidates have performed, with special guests and three masters of ceremony: Ruslana, winner of Eurovision in 2004 for Ukraine; SuRie, a 2018 participant from the United Kingdom, and Víctor Escudero, who has been an advisor to our commentators at the festival.

Blanca Paloma has been giving away different versions of «Eaea» for the different preparties she has attended so far and tonight could not be less. For the Welcome PrePartyES she has brought eight dancers and two clappers, with whom she has taken the song to another level. The woman from Elche has given us a tremendous performance, culminating in a final moment of dance and pure trance that has left everyone speechless. Soraya is clear about it: she says that she sees a «winner's aura» in her. Blanca Paloma, who will perform again tomorrow at the big party together with the international delegations, will continue the night surrounded by her pigeons. «See you dancing tonight… the night,» she assured.
It is clear that this Welcome PrePartyES has been very special for her, since she has not only found herself surrounded by the international delegations that have flown to Madrid. Many of her colleagues have also accompanied her at Benidorm Fest 2023: Alfred García, Aritz, E'Femme, Famous, Fusa Nocta, José Otero, Karmento, Megara, Meler, Rakky Ripper, Siderland, Sofía Martín, Twin Melody and Vicco se come together at this welcome concert. She shared her triumph with them in February and with them she shares her journey today, her experience as a representative of Spain in Eurovision.
Europe surrenders to Blanca Paloma with a performance that leaves the public in Madrid speechless

Blanca Paloma has put the finishing touch to the first concert of the PrePartyEs, organized by Eurovision-Spain and with RTVE as the official medium of the event. She has left the public in Madrid speechless before 75% of the international delegations with an extended version of 'Eaea', the theme with which she will represent Spain at the Eurovision Song Contest on May 13 in Liverpool. Almost five minutes of performance with a splendid Blanca Paloma that has gone from delicacy to strength and empowerment. It has been a version prepared exclusively for her fans, “her pigeons of hers”, in gratitude for her unconditional support: “we carry you in our hearts, pigeons and pigeons. This performance is for you."
The audience has been completely devoted to Blanca Paloma since the first time she went on stage, at the start of the concert, surrounded by her fellow Eurovision 2023 companions who have come to Madrid. Some even dared to make the already characteristic flamenco gesture of 'Eaea' to the sound of the songs of the Spanish fans. Presage of what was to come.
Promised to surprise and has exceeded expectations
The extended version of the initial lullaby, which was so popular in his proposal for Israel, has begun a memorable performance. Just a few seconds were enough for the artist to connect with the public, who were listening in silence to this magnetic introduction. Blanca Paloma thus achieved one of her goals from the beginning: to turn 'Eaea' into a trance with which to take the public through her roots and her values.
In a nod to the original performance of the Benidorm Fest 2023, Blanca Paloma has been accompanied on stage by not only five, but 10 dancers choreographed by Paula Quintana: Paloma Fernández Scharfhausen, Desiré Paredes, Angélica Moyano, Amanda Nóbrega, Saray Frutos, Paula Valbuena, Paula Robles, Paula Gironi, Raquel Fuentes, and Elena Prados. Together, in a women's rite, they have given life to that invocation of their ancestors just as Blanca Paloma wants to transmit with her theme. “It has been incredible, the public chanted from beginning to end and it was very short for us… we have been left wanting more!” They commented after the performance. As «heavenly» one of them has described it.
If this were not enough, in Madrid 'Eaea' has not ended with a sustained note as it usually does. After Blanca Paloma's final scream, the true ecstasy has begun: an addition to the song, produced by José Pablo Polo, who has mixed electronic sounds with strong percussion, with the dancers and Blanca Paloma moving in unison like a pineapple and with the lights keeping pace to create a hypnotic atmosphere. «I have felt a super powerful energy,» he assured.
We had seen the woman from Alicante dance an improvised Sevillana with her father as soon as she won the bronze microphone at the Benidorm Fest, but today we have discovered a never-before-seen facet of Blanca Paloma: she has finished the performance dancing contemporary, almost tribal dance, thus joining to that ritual with their women. A waste of energy and power that has done nothing more than demonstrate once again the versatility and art of the representative of Spain in Eurovision and that her desire to excel has no limits: “I want to do it again. I have liked this experience of being able to show another part of me that I want to continue exploring” she has pointed out.
Blanca Paloma receives Europe in Madrid
Blanca Paloma has been in charge of welcoming the 28 international delegations that have met in Madrid and that this year will compete in Liverpool for the crystal microphone. The flags of all the countries present in the capital have paraded through the La Riviera room in what is, to date, the most massive Eurovision pre-party. Blanca Paloma, Brunette (Armenia), Voyager (Australia), Teya and Salena (Austria), Gustaph (Belgium), Vesna (Czech Republic), Let 3 (Croatia), Reiley (Denmark), Alika (Estonia), Joker Out have participated (Slovenia), Käärijä (Finland), La Zarra (France), Iru (Georgia), Wild Youth (Ireland), Sudden Lights (Latvia), Monika Linkyté (Lithuania), The Busker (Malta), Pasha Parfeni (Moldova), Alessandra (Norway), Mia Nicolai and Dion Cooper (Netherlands), Blanka (Poland), Mimicat (Portugal), Mae Muller (UK), Piqued Jacks (San Marino), Luke Black (Serbia), Loreen (Sweden) and Remo Forrer (Switzerland). Blanca Paloma pinches Loreen's heart
As hostess in her country, Blanca Paloma has welcomed Loreen to Spain. In a meeting in Madrid before the concert, the representative of Sweden and winner of the Eurovision Song Contest in 2012, has confessed to Blanca Paloma that the Spanish is one of her favorites in this edition of the contest. “I connect a lot with your energy and with your way of feeling and expressing music. I believe that we vibrate at the same frequency and that we have many things in common”, Loreen acknowledged.
