Sara Baras - Flamenco

Sara Baras - Flamenco

Spanish dancer and choreographer. Sara Pereira Baras was born on April 25, 1971 in the city of Cádiz, where her parents lived then, Concha Baras (María de la Concepción Baras Herrera), flamenco dance teacher and also a dancer with a long career leading her own company, and the marine infantry colonel Cayetano Pereira.

He was eight years old when the family moved to nearby San Fernando, the birthplace of his mother, who opened a dance school there and made Sara the most demanded student. Concha Baras played the piano and organized meetings at home with her daughters and those of her friends, in which she tried to convey what she learned in Jerez with Cristóbal el Jerezano, and immediately noticed that little Sara pointed out ways.

With ten years, Sara entertained the gala dinners given by his father's superiors, and it was not long before he was part of Los Niños de la Tertulia Flamenca, a group he toured all the flamenco festivals of Andalusia and even danced before Queen Sofia.
